Lucia Mihaela Lobonț

 

Lucia Mihaela Lobonț was born on August 26th, 1972, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She graduated from the The Ion Andreescu Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Decorative Arts. BA in Ceramics in1997, Cluj, Romania. Master of Visual Arts: 1998. She has been a member of the Union of Professional artists (UAP Cluj) since 1999. She was a ceramic designer at ‘United Poteries’, Saigon, Vietnam, 2002-2004. Lucia participated in the „Fule int’l Ceramic Art Museum” (FLICAM) creation camp, China, 2010 and “The world’s best ceramic fountains” creation camp, Italy 2012.

Processing the archaic motifs which translate the amazement before God’s Creation in lyrical, innocent and spontaneous ways (therefore personal), I playfully tell my tale of my intimate encounter with the world. I often use simple ceramic geometrical shapes as a base for my drawings, inspired by old books’ graphics, or by stories from universal literature which I reinterpret.” Lucia Lobonț
