Maria Dermengiu’s roots come way back from the land of Transylvania, a frontier land where stories and myths come together and ingnite the imagination and creativity of those who are set on the path of becoming artists of all kinds.
As a little girl, she would explore the artistic beauty of every day, a custom which has lead her, years later, to pursue a creative path and become a visual artist. All she experienced during her living abroad: flavors, colors, shapes and sounds, have been envisioned and embodied into her work.
She followed into the footsteps of the majority of her family by entering the Law School. After her internship, she felt something was missing and decided that it was best to listen to her inner voice and start living the dream she had always dreamt: paint.
Between 2010 and 2013 she studied Art at the Bucharest School of Art and then, Art Management at the Artmark Institute of Art. These experiences were followed by series of solo and group exhibitions.
Maria believes in passion, in the beauty of nature and in the beauty of the human soul. Her work reflects her fascination with textures and combined mediums as well as her main source of inspiration: nature.
